Since reviewing Earth Mineral’s Scratch Patch earlier this week, I’ve gotten lots of positive feedback. I would like to share Marchella Yokoyama’s of Bellevue, Wa:
It’s the most beautiful, grounding, joyful place for kids I’ve ever experienced. Where can you go in the city these days where there are tumbled stones of all colors from around the world in a place where you can actually interact with them, tumble in them, cool your feet and play in a family oriented setting? It’s the best place to go with kids, adults, friends, family or just for yourself!!!
I have been there many times. Amanda is so warm and inviting. Her background from South Africa and her special way of making it so welcoming for everyone was such a highlight when I visited. I sat down thinking I’d be out of there in 20 minutes or so. Two and a half hours later with a handful of bags in my hand I stood up feeling grounded, joyful and much more ready to live my life in the world. It was such an odd feeling. I didn’t realize the power of these tumbled stones, nor did I realize how calm and joyful I could feel from sitting and digging for my favorite ones. I laid down in them, closed my eyes and relaxed my body feeling the coolness of each stone touch me. The kids that were also there we giggling and were so captivated by all the stones and the colors. This place was for kids and for everyone I realized! I knew this was a place I’d come back to again and again. I am a yoga teacher and was so thrilled by my experience I decided to take the stones and use them in my Yoga Classes that I teach for Kids. I let the kids feel the stones, identify them with a chart and incorporate them in my teaching. It’s been a wonderful way to bring nature, education and joy all together.
