My Busy Kit Review and Giveaway

Welcome to Pit Stops for Kids’ brand new look! It’s our hope that our new design will make finding and reviewing pit stops for your family’s vacation easier than ever with more categories, more streamlined information, and perhaps most exciting of all, the launch of our Sponsor of the Month program!

Meet this month’s sponsor:

Starting today, every time you, the reader, submit a pit stop (it’s easier than ever…just fill out the box to your right!) or subscribe to our feed, you will be automatically entered in our Sponsor of the Month Giveaway.

My Busy Kit embodies exactly what Pit Stops for Kids is all about: making your travels with young children more enjoyable! Inside each kit is a creative mix of small toys, art supplies, and interesting gagets sure to engage your child for miles.

Finally! Toby gets to open up his My Busy Kit!

We had the opportunity to try out the Airport My Busy Kit on our recent drive from Oregon to Death Valley, CA…a two-day trek through endless desert. I didn’t let Toby (age 5) dig into the kit until several hours in, fearing he’d tear through the contents within minutes, but I shouldn’t have worried: the kit kept him happy (and quiet!) for hours, and he revisited the contents of the little clear bag (perfect for him to hold himself) again and again throughout our trip.

His favorite thing in the bag was the package of Wikki Stix, but it was the fishbowl sticker scene that ended up keeping him engaged the longest. I loved the care that had obviously gone into the selection of items in the kit, and while My Busy Kit is targeted to a younger clientele (I’d say ages 3-7 is ideal),  my older sons (ages 8 and 10) ended up playing happily with the tape measure and the markers. We saved the shaped wooden sticks for a long wait at a restaurant table, where all the boys colored them with the markers and put on an impromptu puppet show for their 18-month-old cousin.
The sticker scene kept him busy throughout northern Nevada.

This would be great to have for our summer trips. I hate to rely on the DVD player so much, so this would be good for my 4 year old son.

    Thanks for the giveaway!
