To say that people who have tasted Sylas and Maddy’s homemade ice cream tend to be enthusiastic about it would be an understatement, which makes me long to make the drive to Kansas to try it out! Sylas & Maddy’s makes 150 flavors of homemade ice cream, and features 40 of them each day. With flavors like Gold Rush, Crazy Kat, and Kansas Twister, I’m thinking it would be an educational experience even to an experienced ice cream taster such as myself. In the meantime, I’ll have to live vicariously (if you’ve been, please let us know how great it is in the comments!).

Distinctly homemade, Sylas and Maddy’s is a fixture of Lawrence, Kansas, and well worth a short detour off I-70 if you’re driving through. I know Vacation Gal’s ColoradoGal was sorry to have missed out while on her family’s recent 1K Country Adventure. Be sure to check out all the places she did go, however, while road-tripping through the midwest! It’s an invaluable resource to traveling families!

Extra Tip! Don’t know if a regular (think: huge!) scoop at Sylas and Maddy’s is too much for you? Order a ‘baby’ scoop: still filling, but smaller in size.
