Davis Farmland and Mega Maze

Central Massachusetts foliage

145 Redstone Hill,
Sterling, MA

Let’s say you want to spend a beautiful New England afternoon leaf peeping, but to your kids, gazing at fall foliage is about as exciting as watching grass grow. The perfect solution for a fall family outing or weekend getaway? A stop at Davis Farmland (and their famous…or is that infamous?) Mega Maze!

Located off Route 62 near Sterling, Massachusetts, Davis Farmland offers not only beautiful fall foliage, but fun, fun, fun for the kids (actual and at-heart) in your group. You can easily spend the whole day in the maze alone (don’t worry, there’s a snack shack within the area so you won’t miss a meal!), trying to solve several levels of maze solutions or finding all solutions at one level of play, but if you tire of all the twists and turns through the corn, there’s plenty more to do. Until mid-October, you can pick apples in the orchard, and all season long you can choose a pumpkin, ride a pony, visit farm animals, and play on the child-sized zip lines and equipment.

  1. Love the Central MA foliage photo. Gorgeous! You are right, leaf peeping is not quite as exciting for our kids as it is for us so it’s great to combine outings with other fun stuff …

Sounds like a blast! We’re going to find a good corn maze here in Colorado, too, this month.

  3. Mara says:

Well, anything with the word “mega” in the name has got to be good, right?

These kinds of orchard/farm activities are always fun and are a great way to get even the littlest kids outside in the fall.

  4. Jennifer says:

I remember that leaf crunching (once they’ve fallen) is a lot more exciting for kids than actual leaf peeping… The tree photo at the top of this post is magnificent. Even a kid would have to appreciate that one! :)

  5. Anna says:

This place looks like loads of fun!
