It’s that time of year again…time to get involved in one of the web’s most vibrant and change-effecting annual fundraisers, Passports with Purpose. If you want to make a difference this holiday season, this is the place to be. Each year, travelbloggers and travelers work together with Passports with Purpose to raise much needed money for our global community.
If you’re a long-time Pit Stops for Kids reader, you know that last year, we auctioned off a Sony Portable LCD TV for this cause, contributing to the over $30,000 raised to build a school in Cambodia. This year, we’re supporting LAFTI, an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the Dalit (untouchable) population in India. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to build a village in India which will provide homes for those who have never had a roof over their heads!
To this end, I’m very happy to offer another prize I can enthusiastically stand behind: a Timbuk2 Travel Gear Bundle, generously supplied by CSN Stores and valued at over $100.
Included is everything you need to get off on the right foot on your next travel adventure (and to be honest, I love this prize so much, I wish I could hide it in my closet and keep it forever):
1. 1 Timbuk2 Bob Reversible Tote (red and black)
2. 1 Timbuk2 Hidden Backpack (red and black)
3. 1 Timbuk2 Quart-sized Accessory (clear)
4. 1 Timbuk2 Luggage Tag (black)
5. 1 Timbuk2 ID Money Clip (black)
Pit Stops for Kids reviewed the Hidden Backpack and Quart-sized Accessory just last month. I tried both items, and couldn’t be more pleased with their quality and usefulness (but why am I surprised…it is Timbuk2, after all!). The Hidden Backpack zips up in its own tiny case, allowing you to save room and store an extra pack for a rainy day (or lots of souvenirs!) I personally own a Timbuk2 Bob Tote, and can tell you it’s the perfect size for a carry-on while in route anywhere. It wipes clean, stores many books, snacks, and even a laptop sleeve.I’ve owned my Bob Tote for five years now, and it’s still going strong.
Bidding on this or any other Passports with Purpose prize is easy: Simply go to their ‘donate’ page and browse the many selections, from travel gear to luxury hotel packages to gift cards. Every $10 you donate affords you one entry toward the prize of your choice. Donate as much or little as you like, split your donation between several items or throw all your eggs into one basket toward a single coveted prize…it’s your choice! If travel is in your future, I hope you’ll consider participating! The fundraiser runs from today until Dec. 13, 2010.
Pit Stops for Kids is proud to be part of this annual effort!
