Life is Good Journey Tote review

No matter what type of trip my family is embarking upon, there’s always one thing I absolutely must have among my packing supplies: a quality tote bag. Whether it’s used as a carry-on for the airplane, a snack bag for the car, or a beach bag for towels and toys, I’ve never left for a family vacation without one. So when an outdoor apparel and on-the-go lifestyle retail company like ABC Distributing or Appalachian Outdoors, asked me to review one of their Life is Good products for family travel, I chose their Journey canvas tote.

It’s from Life is Good, so I knew the tote would be durable, practical, and colorful, but I didn’t expect it to be so stylish. Available in two colors (I had a hard time choosing!), the outside of the Journey tote is splashed with a great blossom design that’s somehow feminine, artsy, and outdoorsy. It’s subtle too; this is a tote that will look great on anyone’s shoulder, in any season, as a useful accessory to any outfit. And the best part is that it’s only $31.00: there’s no need to spend a fortune on a quality tote.

At 18 by 23 by 6, the Journey tote is roomy, too: on a weekend trip with my son’s soccer team, I fit a stadium blanket, hat, sunglasses (I can hope, can’t I?), a camera, and an extra layer of clothing or two in the main section, with a convenient space for my phone and wallet in the zippered interior side pocket. The tote’s handles are wide enough to make it possible to sling it over one shoulder, but still short enough to be held comfortably in hand, as well. I love that it’s machine washable (a must) and so cute that I won’t feel like a pack mule while carting all my family’s stuff around in it. On the heels of its inaugural soccer trip, I plan to use the Journey tote as our car’s entertainment and electronics bag, as well as a library book bag when not traveling. It’s also the perfect size to store the iPad and Kindle for shorter family trips when bringing the larger laptop tote is not necessary.

What type of bag is your family’s go-to, all-purpose, equipment-carrying choice? A backpack? A duffel? A rollie? What makes it great? Stop by the KOA Campfire community to share!

As I disclose whenever applicable, I received the Life is Good Journey Tote from AppOutdoors at no cost for the purpose of review. While I appreciate the product, all opinions are my own.
